UDS Capital Berhad (“UDSCAP”) was incorporated in Malaysia on 28 Dec 1999 as a private limited company and subsequently converted to public limited company on 21 Mar 2000. It commenced operations on 1 Dec 2003 as an investment holding company and listed in the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 15 Mar 2004.

The current authorised share capital of UDS is RM100,000,000 comprising 200,000,000 shares of RM0.50 each. 125,505,500 shares are currently issued and fully-paid-up.

The business activities of the Group can be classified into

• manufacturing and trading of wood-based furniture, fixtures, polyethylene and pneumatic fasteners
• manufacturing and sale of upholstered furniture (settees and sofas)
• log house manufacturing and construction

The manufacturing and sale of the wood-based furniture like buffet & hutch, dining and bedroom sets, which carry its own brand name “UD” and “PK” are undertaken by U.D.Panelform Sdn.Bhd. and Poh Keong Industries Sdn.Bhd. respectively. The upholstered furniture division is undertaken by Sin Wee Seng Industries Sdn.Bhd., which focus on original design manufacturing and customized design backed by its in-house R&D know-how and high quality manufacturing process. All these are mainly catering for export markets such as Japan, Europe, United States, Middle East, Australia and others.

The pneumatic fasteners and polyethylene form manufacturing division is undertaken by U.D.Industries Sdn.Bhd. Products like air nails, air staple, coil nails and the polyethylene form are designed by vary sizes mainly for the local furniture manufacturers.

Syarikat U.D.Trading Corporation Sdn.Bhd. is involves in the log house construction without nail. The logs and planks are imported from Northern Europe and are process laminated treatment. It prefabricate logs into design-and-build products log houses / cabins, log sauna cabins and log gazeboes. The products are mainly marketed to local resorts, developers and end-users.

Syarikat U.D. Trading Sdn.Bhd. is the marketing and distribution arm for the boards, air nails, coil nails and air staples. They focus on regional distribution, i.e. northern, central and southern regions. Each region has its own marketing office and warehousing facilities located in Lunas, Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru other than the head quarter in Muar.
